If you are reading this, you are probably informed enough to realize through Donald Trump’s words and actions during his campaign and presidency that he is as malignantly corrupt and morally bankrupt as Tony Soprano. And all the presidents men...are also crooks.
Sure, the president is a crook. The real problem is the crook is our president. As such, he not only is able to literally use the presidency as a bully pulpit, he’s also able (with the help from the Republican run senate) to place his partisan rubes in positions to defend any attempts to expose or prosecute his crimes. With his new fixer, “Obstruction Theory is Fatally Misconceived,” William Barr, refusing to release the full unreacted Mueller report to congress and “Sitting Presidents Can’t be Indicted” Brett Kavanaugh chugging away on the Supreme Court, it’s difficult to truly expose Trump’s criminal operation to the public.
Thankfully, the many investigations from the House and state prosecutors will shine some much-needed light on many of Trumps’ dubious practices. Sadly, the factual reporting on them will surely be drowned out by the misinformation coming from Fox News and the rest of the conservative propaganda complex. With both sides preaching only to the choir and about 40% of the country unswayed by boring facts, the nation will remain divided enough to give Trump a chance to remain president for an indeterminable period.
The Good News: As crazy as it sounds, there exists a yet untapped resource to possibly inspire some critical thinking among Trump’s devoted disciples. And I have it, or at least the beginning of it in the form of my painting, The Trump Crime Family. I would argue that the immediacy and simplicity of a powerful image accompanied with a short tag line on mediums that people of all political beliefs are exposed to, such as billboards and t-shirts, can have more impact on the public consciousness than a thousand speeches.
The painting is done, now what we need is a killer tagline, a call to action and the resources to get the piece seen. That’s where you come in. I’m accepting ideas, contacts to people/organizations with the resources and/or donations to utilize this piece to reveal and imprint in people’s hearts and minds, the true nature of Donald Trump and his administration before the next presidential election. Maybe we can rouse enough support to pressure them into releasing the full Mueller report or the Don’s taxes like it’s always been done. Let’s work together on this because I for one don’t want to live in a country run by a mafia don.
